I could see them just being shield-bash again, although that'd be pretty boring. Does anyone ever actually use the bash?In DS1 it was useless because of very low base damage (i don't think any greatshield with bash had more than 90 AR) and poise damage, and in DS2 it was too slow. I think bash will be usable if it will have speed of DS1 bash, some more damage, some block frames at start, will interrupt anything (even hyper-armor) and will have heavier stagger, just like kick.PS Havel's GS ftw.

The problem with tower shields is that they are more fantasy related than reality based. The closest thing to it in the real world would be shields they used for siege weapons which were placed on the ground. However with this fantasy trope comes the opportunity to do whatever they want with them and in my opinion a turtle up shield push /stagger makes sense along side the usual shield bash. The push charge makes the enemy off balance for a moment but takes a ton of stamina as does the bash. The push sets up a repost while the bash does damage itself.

Stability

This is just one thing they could do.Another way is to use these tower shields as an affective and realistic way to block backstabs by having them on your back when you two hand a weapon. They nearly cover the entirety of your body when placed there and it would make them a very useful option. They could also give one or more great shields a special power, a beam of light, hp regen, fire with the smash etc that help balance out the possible lack of Sword Arts.Lots of possibilities really, I just hope they considered them all. Under the assumption that, Small Shields parry and Medium Shields quickly activate sword arts than Tower shields should just bash. And with a little room for hybrids like the Herald of Whites shield from the Stress Test.

Dark Souls 3 Armor

Its a balancing thing. If tower shields could do sword arts than the only downfall to using a tower shield over a medium shield would be weight which is usually not an issue in late game. I highly doubt From would complete;y negate the usability of a whole class of shields, during any point in the game whether your New Game or NG+5.
